Device Monitor is the file process called lxctmon.exe, and a part of the program Lexmark Printing Software, which is created by Lexmark International, Inc. As a Windows process, lxctmon.exe definitely works with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include both old and later versions, such as Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows ME, Windows 98, and Windows 95. This file is not only a Windows compatible process, but also an essential component, with a specific function that completes the overall performance and efficiency of the software that houses it. Other than that, lxctmon.exe is an example of a background process, which clearly means that it is a part of a particular program that performs specific tasks or function that run in the background. Because it is digitally signed by Lexmark International, Inc. (VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer), lxctmon.exe is recommended to remain stored and keep running on the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxctmon.exe. is used by Lexmark Printing Software/Lexmark Printer, If you shut down lxctmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lxctmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printing Software/Lexmark Printer, from your system.
