The process that is typically known as Symantec LiveUpdate CallBack Proxy is associated with the AV suite from Symantec, and is launched when the file lucallbackproxy.exe is executed. This process is part of Symantec LiveUpdate. The file updates Norton AV software, and other AV software developed by Symantec. But the file does more than just automatically update your AV applications. The file enables an application that makes downloading updates so much faster, in the event that a number of updates are available at a time. To prevent bulk downloads, which can immensely slow down CPU speed, the file launches several times simultaneously to take care of specific updates. In other words, the file will spawn more than once, simultaneously launching to download specific updates. It is not surprising therefore, to find a number of this file running in your Task Manager, all at the same time.
