The lmirfsdriver.sys process is a system driver utility file that is deployed by the LogMeIn software as one of its component driver utilities for widely used versions of Microsoft Windows. The LogMeIn software is a Windows program classified as a remote desktop management and remote access tool that was developed with a set of features that can allow users to remotely perform certain operations in their Windows-based systems, such as the ability to access files and folders while on the road, the capability to use devices connected to their Windows-based computers and the function of scheduling automated tasks and processes in their Windows-based systems and applications among other remote tasks. The lmirfsdriver.sys file is distributed with other SYS driver utilities, certain DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, some executable program files, specific background process items and various components that are used and referenced by Microsoft Windows and the LogMeIn software in order to implement the embedded set of functionalities of the LogMeIn remote access application into the system. The lmirfsdriver.sys process is specifically integrated as one of the components of the LogMeIn Remote File System Driver module, which is an applet built into the LogMeIn remote desktop management and remote access software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lmirfsdriver.sys. is used by LogMeIn and LogMeIn Remote File System Driver Module, If you shut down lmirfsdriver.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lmirfsdriver.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is LogMeIn and LogMeIn Remote File System Driver Module, from your system.
