Lexmark Printer Status Messenger is a process that gets loaded on the computer when the user executes the lmab1err.exe file. This is usually installed alongside the drivers for Lexmark printers. The file displays an icon on the System Tray. The file’s primary responsibility is to alert the user of errors in the printer such as when the printer is low on paper or the paper has jammed, or when the printer is low on ink. The file executes every time the PC boots but you can disable it from startup, and also from running in the background. Usually, users with Lexmark printers that have an LCD display disable the file since they can see the printer status directly on the LCD. Non-system modules loaded by the process are lmabcom.dll which is associated with the printer’s communication system, and lmaberror.dll which is associated with the printer’s status messenger. The file has a standard directory path of C:\Program Files\Lexmark\ErrorApp\lmab1err.exe.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lmab1err.exe. is used by Lexmark Printer Status Messenger, If you shut down lmab1err.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lmab1err.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printer Status Messenger, from your system.
