Known by the service name Launchy or TODO, the launchy.exe file is an instance of an executable or EXE process, and is a part of the software Launchy or TODO, which is developed by TODO, or Code Jelly. The launchy.exe file is a type of an open-sourced keystroke launcher, which is used to index all files in the Start menu, and to let the computer user open documents or other files through the use of keystrokes. Although not a basic component of the overall performance of the system, the launchy.exe file needs to remain running in the background, and the only time to remove it is when it starts to cause errors or problems that affect the Windows OS. Speaking which, the launchy.exe file is installable in versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. launchy.exe. is used by Launchy or TODO, If you shut down launchy.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop launchy.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Launchy or TODO, from your system.
