What is klif.sys
The clif.sys file is the driver file used in the Kaspersky Lab anti-virus products software. Kaspersky Lab is a known developer of threat management systems and secure content and reported to be the leading global vendor of system security products. The company is also the leading provider of a wide range of software to repair known system conflicts. Klif.sys updates hardware drivers to prevent future errors. An existing klif.sys file in the local drive folder prior to requiring it might mean that the said klif.sys file is a Win32 virus. The legitimate klif.sys is located at C:\Windows\System32\drivers or contained in the subfolder of C:\Windows\System32. Klif.sys is a driver which is most likely an anti-rootkit scanner, since it belongs to Kaspersky’s range of product solutions. If not functioning properly, the software may conflict in some versions of Windows XP, resulting to the "blue screen" error. When this happens, installing a spyware or virus scanners is recommended.
