The klg.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a malware application associated with the Spyware.LocalKeylog program, which is a known family of spyware items. The same user reports claim that the klg.exe process is capable of recording keyboard inputs and writing these keyboard input details in a log file, which is then said to be transmitted to remote servers that are operated and managed by the authors of this spyware keylogger. With this, some users state that the klg.exe process also has Trojan-like functionalities, such as the ability to search for unsecure TCP/IP network ports that this spyware keylogger can then exploit and use to download other malware items and upload logged keyboard inputs to the Web servers of its authors. Some users claim that the klg.exe process is capable of automatically initializing during system startup due to the entries and keys it can create and insert into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in a Windows-based system, while a few users said the klg.exe process, upon its successful automatic initialization during system startup, can operate undetected by the user as a background process during system runtime.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. klg.exe. is used by Spyware.LocalKeylog, If you shut down klg.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop klg.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Spyware.LocalKeylog, from your system.
