The kbstatusled.exe process is an EXE application resource that is used by the firmware and device driver software distributions of certain keyboards equipped with LED status indicators for its scroll and numpad locks. The kbstatusled.exe file is implemented into Windows-based systems alongside other executable application resources, certain modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, some SYS driver utilities, specific background process items and various components that are used and referenced by the Windows system and the firmware/driver software components that are associated with the connected keyboard. The kbstatusled.exe file and these other resources are placed in the system upon the installation of the keyboard firmware distributions and device driver software packages, which also means the kbstatusled.exe process is integrated into the installer distributions of these keyboard driver software components and firmware packages. The kbstatusled.exe process may automatically initialize by default and operate as a background process during system runtime, in order to implement its keyboard scroll and numpad lock monitoring features into the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. kbstatusled.exe. is used by Keyboard Status LED Module, If you shut down kbstatusled.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop kbstatusled.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Keyboard Status LED Module, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Keyboard Status LED Module, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
