What is  kbdcap.sys

The kbdcap.sys process is disguised as a legitimate keyboard driver utility in Windows-based systems that are infected by the Kido worm, according to some user reports. The kbdcap.sys process has been reported by many users as a malicious keylogging application associated with the Kido worm, and the kbdcap.sys file is said to be placed in the "drivers" folder in the System32 sub directory of the Windows directory under the system partition upon the successful placement and activation of the Kido worm in the system. Because of the alleged keylogging functionalities of the kbdcap.sys process, this possibly malicious program has been classified as a spyware program by these user reports. Some users also claimed that the kbdcap.sys file is capable of transmitting these logged keyboard inputs from the infected system to the remote servers of its authors, and these users said that the kbdcap.sys file can perform this uploading task by exploiting unsecure TCP/IP network ports of the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. kbdcap.sys. is used by Kido Worm, If you shut down kbdcap.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
