Hewlett-Packard Keyboard Handler is the process that launches with the executable file kbd.exe. This is a file that users generally find already existing on their HP and Compaq computers. The process is also known as Multimedia Keyboard Manager. The file functions as the main executable for configuring your HP and Compaq units’ keyboards, particularly their multimedia functions. You can use the special keys to launch certain applications like your Web browser and Word processor. It also enables you to manipulate the volume of your machine. The file is not necessary if you do not use your keyboard’s multimedia functions. You may therefore remove the file from your Startup list so it will not launch when you launch your system upon boot-up. The file is generally found as having the size of 65.55 KB. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. kbd.exe. is used by HP Keyboard Handler, If you shut down kbd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop kbd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Keyboard Handler, from your system.
