The Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) acts as a firewall to the applications and blocks unauthorized changes to programs as well as prevent unauthorized copying of private files to external devices. This application has a small footprint and low performance impact, and is a favorite among gamers and those for whom system performance is an issue.
