Intel graphic chipsets driver includes a process known as Common User Interface, with the executable file igfxext.exe. The file displays an icon on Windows System Tray, which users can open to access options for changing the settings of their graphic chipsets or cards. If you disable the file, your graphic card will still work, because this is not the executable file extension that launches the functions of your graphic cards. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. igfxext.exe. is used by Common User Interface, If you shut down igfxext.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop igfxext.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Common User Interface, from your system.
