Developed by Macrovision, idrivert.exe is the file executable for InstallDriver Table Manager, a powerful yet easy-to-use installation solution for generating Windows-based development installations by creating software packages or installers for Microsoft Windows desktop. It contains automated tools that produce, bundle, and install products in traditional MSI and in virtual format. InstallDriver is complemented by InstallShield, a software for detecting virus activity in the computer during installation processes. InstallShield also assists in uninstallation of programs, giving it a clean, hassle-free installation and uninstallation experience. Such program combination enhances deployment and management of applications in real-time while providing an improved installation experience. Moreso, InstallShield tracks previously installed similar programs to prevent program duplication which may cause future errors or malfunction in running related programs. These Macrovision installation package works seamlessly with computers running on Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems. In addition, any program from Macrovision is compatible with these platforms.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. idrivert.exe. is used by InstallDriver Table Manager, If you shut down idrivert.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop idrivert.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is InstallDriver Table Manager, from your system.
