The file hwinfo32.sys is a Windows system driver accompanying the program HWiNFO32, a hardware information and diagnostics tools for Wndows, manufactured by REALIX. The program provides the user with a large amount of information about the installed PC hardware which is essential if the user wants to update drivers, or check for the manufacturers, system integrators or specialists. Aside from providing hardware information, HWiNFO32 has also system monitoring feature showing thermal, voltage, fan and power of the machine. The system driver process runs in the background upon launching of the software and is usually hidden or lacks its own window. It is placed into the system under the installation folder once the HWiNFO32 is installed in the PC. The process runs as part of the program for it to bridge the different hardware component of the machine needed to be established to be able to assess the information for each one. The process hwinfo32.sys is a readily available as part of the files included in the HWiNFO32 installation file upon download.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hwinfo32.sys. is used by HWiNFO32, If you shut down hwinfo32.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hwinfo32.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HWiNFO32, from your system.
