The file hwaccess.sys is a Windows system driver file associated with the debugging software HWAccess by Assymetric Softwarem although it has been released from circulation and no longer being updated by the authors. This Windows-based system software allows dynamic link library (DLL) services to access the PC system hardware, allowing them to identify and control system components through the I/O memory, linear address space and processor registers. Also, the program allows scanning of the PC directly by bypassing the O/S to provide a more complete H/W information. This hwaccess.sys is incorporated into a Windows-based system upon installation of the HWAccess allowing the access of external libraries to the machine’s hardware for debugging purposes. It is an important process to ensure the bridging between the software and the machine. Therefore, the process hwaccess.sys is an essential resource file included in the distribution of HWAccess software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hwaccess.sys. is used by HWAccess, If you shut down hwaccess.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hwaccess.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HWAccess, from your system.
