The process htpatch.exe is an executable file and a part of the program SiS Accelerated Graphics Port Patch, also referred to as SiS Hyperthreading Patch, or SiS AGP patch utility, or SiS Multimedia /Sis Hyperthreading Patch, which is developed by Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation. SiS Accelerated Graphics Port Patch is used for motherboard and processor products of SiS, and htpatch.exe is designed to increase the performance of video cards of computer with hyper-threading capabilities. It is expected that this file runs in the background, especially if the type of processor used is Pentium. It not advisable to delete, terminate or stop this file, because it has a specific essential function, but if it causes problems or errors on the system, it can be removed, and re-installed, if necessary. Nevertheless, the htpatch.exe file works on most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, and Windows NT, by Microsoft Corporation.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. htpatch.exe. is used by SiS Accelerated Graphics Port Patch, If you shut down htpatch.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
