The hsx_dp.sys is system driver file that is used by the Conexant HSF Generic Modem or AC97 Software Modem driver set’s firmware resources and device driver components to establish communication and data transmission lines between the AC97 Software Modem and its firmware and driver utilities specifically the modem driver set for implementing the AC97 driver set functions. The hsx_dp.sys is implement into the computer system by the Conexant-powered HSF Generic modem or AC97 Software Modem driver set that is distributed with firmware utilities and other driver components that are packaged with the Conexant driver set and PCI modems as the core system driver file to connect the Conexant HSF Generic Modem or AC97 Software Modem driver set into the system. The hsx_dp.sys is activated to run the communications and transmission lines between the driver set and the system as a background process system file during program installation or whenever the HSF generic modem is connected to the Windows-based computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hsx_dp.sys. is used by Conexant HSF Generic Modem or AC97 Software Modem driver set, If you shut down hsx_dp.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hsx_dp.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Conexant HSF Generic Modem or AC97 Software Modem driver set, from your system.
