What is  hsswd.exe

The hsswd.exe process is an executable and Windows file that is associated with Hotspot Shield, also known by the name Expat Shield, which is a product software created by AnchorFree. Hotspot Shield is a type of Internet security solution for virtual private network or VPN. A host administrator and his or her shared users can have security, privacy and safe access if this software is installed on the computers. It primarily secures Internet activities and web browsing history, maximizes privacy, scans and prevents viruses, spyware and malware, and provides access to blocked sites. In addition, this software also features protection when using other connections from Wi-Fi hotspots, cafés, airports, and others, as well as security of the IP address of the user. It is a total security solution when using the Internet. That being said, the hsswd.exe file is an important component that can provide all these tasks. Without the file, the program Hotspot Shield may not properly work. A host user needs to ensure this file process is running in the background.
