Developed by Microsoft Windows, HsMgr.exe is a process file that provides GX2.0 features and enables Directsound 2D, 3D, and EAX for system programs in Windows Vista. HsMgr.exe, a 32-bit program, and HsMgr64.exe, a 64-bit program, are services that provide GX2.0 features. Both are essential to be running on the Windows system. On older system drivers, both these files are named CMGxMon64.exe and CMGxMon.exe. Windows Vista is leaned towards blocking some .dll or .exe files in ZIP files as security measures. It may cause programs to stop responding, and Windows Vista may also prompt for permission to load these programs on boot up. The following steps are recommended in working around the issue:
• Unzip the file when downloading a new driver package.
• From the Property settings of HsMgr.exe, set it to Unblock and then click to Apply.
• Do the same with HsMgr64.exe.
• Run the installation program
HsMgr.exe has been reported for the following behaviors:
• Polymorphic process with changing structure
• DLL file registration
