The hsf_dpv.sys file is a system process that serves as one of the program files and modules required by the softK modem driver module, which is normally bundled with widely used versions of Microsoft Windows and the firmware or driver software components of other compatible networking devices. Also known as the HSF_DP driver, the hsf_dpv.sys file contains source code with sequential lines of commands, modular system resource references, program-specific module instructions and application directives that are used by the other components of the softK modem driver module to work properly and perform the intended operations or functions as requested from the user from the supported modem or networking device. The content of the hsf_dpv.sys file is encoded with program logic compilation specifications and implemented with data storage standards that are normally used for source code saved in the SYS file format.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hsf_dpv.sys. is used by SoftK Modem Driver, If you shut down hsf_dpv.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hsf_dpv.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SoftK Modem Driver, from your system.
