The hpjfpmd.exe file is a process called Hewlett-Packard Federation Package Manager Service that is used by the application Hewlett-Packard Federation Package Manager Service created by Hewlett-Packard Company. This file has no digital signature. It is not a core file for Windows that means the operating system can run without requiring this process. The process connects to the Internet or LAN through open ports. It can monitor programs. This is not a visible program. A file with an EXE extension pertains to an executable file or program on OS/2, Windows, Symbian, DOS and OpenVMS operating systems. Aside from the executable program, various EXE files have components called resources like icons and bitmaps that the executable program can use for its GUI [graphical user interface]. An executable file is a program that can be run by the operating system as an application on computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpjfpmd.exe. is used by HP Federation Package Manager Service, If you shut down hpjfpmd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hpjfpmd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Federation Package Manager Service, from your system.
