What is hpconfig.exe
The file hpconfig.exe, known as HP Config Module, belongs to software HP Configuration Interface Service by Hewlett-Packard. The HP Configuration Interface Service is the command console configuration and service utility that can connect to the system through the RS232 interface, in-band over Fibre Channel, or over TCP/IP to a proxy agent, which can communicate with the system in-band over Fibre Channel. The RS232 specification allows for reliable data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver at data rates of up to 20K bits/second over relatively short distances of up to fifty feet. The most common applications are computers and peripherals, mobile phone data cables and diagnostic data ports. The Fibre Channel, which is the other option for interface service, is a technology for transmitting data between computer devices at rates up to 4Gbps that is especially suited for connecting computer servers to shared storage devices and for interconnecting storage controllers and drives.
