Most reports by end users and anti-virus programs identify the hp103.tmp as malware. This is not a visible process. It can monitor the Internet browser. It can control other applications. It is considered a spyware by most reports. A spyware is a program that gathers information about an organization or an individual with their knowledge. It sends these data to another entity without their permissin. It may also control the computer without the knowledge of the owner. Spyware has four types including Trojans, tracking cookies, adware and system monitors. It is usually hidden and difficult to detect. It can collect any data including surfing habits and personal information of the user, credit or bank details and user logins. It can install additional software on the computer or redirect Web browsers. It can alter the computer settings that cause slow Internet connections and changes to application settings or browser settings.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hp103.tmp. is used by Hp103.tmp, If you shut down hp103.tmp, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
