The hotcore2.sys file is a process called Hotbackup helper driver that is part of the application HotBackup developed by Paragon Software Group. This process is a driver. A driver is a program that operates or controls a device connected to the computer. It acts as translator between the operating system or application and the hardware device to simplify programming. It is operating-system-specific and dependent on hardware. The hotcore2.sys file does not use a visible window. It is not a core file for Windows. Paragon Hot Backup or Hot Processing lets you lock a partition that needs backup without interrupting Windows system or other programs. It provides flexibility for storing snapshot and current data. It helps manage snapshot space better without impact on current data. It provides a predictable amount for space recovered through deletion of snapshots. Data changed during the hot backup is not included in the backup archive. It is saved in a temporary file and put on its proper place after the backup.
