The hooks32.dll file is the process Hooks32.dll that is part of the application SpamMATTERS by ACMA [Australian Communications and Media Authority]. A DLL [dynamic link library] file is a program that has functions that can be used by other programs. It can inject itself into other running processes to alter or control their behavior. This program does not use a visible window. It is not a system process. It records inputs. SpamMATTERS is an anti-spam system. It is created to help ACMA track down spammers by clicking the anti-spam button for the users to report malicious messages. It forwards the unsolicited mail to the database and deletes it from the computer system of the user. This anti-spam button is a plug-in for Outlook and Outlook Express. ACMA will report the malicious activities such as phishing spams to the authorities handling crime and consumer protection.
