The hookkey32.dll file is the process called ASUS HookKey for HotKey Service that is used by the application HotKey Service by ASUS. A DLL [dynamic link library] file is an application that has functions that can be used by other programs. It can hook itself into other running process to control or alter their behavior. A DLL file is easy to install and arrange. All programs using a particular DLL can share its code to occupy a single place in the physical memory while the data usually remains private that means every process has its own copy of the data. The hookkey32.dll file does not use a visible window. It records keyboard inputs. It is not a core file for Windows. HotKey Service is a tool that lets you switch on or off the bluetooth/wireless settings through the Fn+F2 key and show you the brightness, volume and power levels every time they are changed. A hotkey is a key or a combination of keys that serve as shortcut for executing commands.
