Most reports by anti-virus programs and end users classify the holdapi.dll file as malware. This process file is a dynamic link library [DLL]. A DLL file has a mechanism for shared code and data that can be used by different applications at the same time. It may inject itself into other running processes to alter or control their behavior. It is easy to install and arrange. The holdapi.dll file is a BHO [browser helper object] that automatically runs when you launch the Internet browser. Personal firewalls often do not block activities of BHOs because the firewall detects the BHO as the browser itself. This is one reason why malware such as spyware and adware often use BHOs for their malicious activities. The holdapi.dll is not a visible program. It appears as unknown file on Windows folder. This file has been associated with fraud security software and malware downloader. It is encrypted or packed by software packing process.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. holdapi.dll. is used by Holdapi.dll, If you shut down holdapi.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop holdapi.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Holdapi.dll, from your system.
