The hkml_srv.exe file is the process called HKML_SRV.exe that is used by the application MultiLex. It is not a system process. It originates from the application installed in the system. It is not a core file for Windows that means the operating system can run without requiring this process. This process records keyboard inputs. This program uses an icon on the taskbar. It uses a visible window. MutliLex is an English-Russian electronic dictionary that helps you translate between English and Russian languages that includes words, phrases and large amounts of text. It includes more than 29 dictionaries and 6 million translations. Twenty of the dictionaries are topic-specific including banking, economics, medicine, biology, equipment, technology and linguistics. The other 9 are general dictionaries that feature The New English-Russian Dictionary authored by Yu D. Apresyan, Roget’s Thesaurus and the Webster’s New World College Dictionary. It uses Microsoft Agent speech technology for audible pronunciation of any of the entries and text entered on the comment window or search box. You can switch the interface between the two languages. You can use custom bookmarks feature for creating your own list of foreign words and your own personal dictionary. It translates works into grammatical form.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hkml_srv.exe. is used by MultiLex, If you shut down hkml_srv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hkml_srv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is MultiLex, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as MultiLex, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
