The hkdll.dll file is the process called hkdll Dynamic Link Library that is part of the application PS Tray Factory created by PS Soft Lab. A dynamic link library [DLL] file is a program that has functions that can be shared by other programs. It has a mechanism for shared code and data that allow a developer to improve the functions of a program without the need to re-link or recompile. The hkdll.dll file is not a core file for Windows. It can record inputs. It can alter or control the behavior of other applications. This process does not have a visible window. PS Tray Factory is a tool for controlling icons on the system tray. It helps to manage applications that use icons on the taskbar. It lets you hide low-activity icons, change order of icons on the menu and system tray, access hidden icons quickly, minimize any program to system tray, use password to protect tray menu and modify original tray icons using your own icons.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hkdll.dll. is used by PS Tray Factory, If you shut down hkdll.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hkdll.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PS Tray Factory, from your system.
