Most reports by users and anti-virus programs identify hjoqor.dll file as malware. Microsoft recognizes this process as Adware:Win32/SmitFraud. This program runs when you load the Internet browser. It uses the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad. It is not a core file for Windows. This file has been associated with malware downloader. It can enable itself as server or in process object. It can be deleted or created on disk as a process. It auto starts applications upon system startup by being added as registry key [RUNONCE]. Malware is a program created to access private systems without knowledge or permission of the owner, to steal sensitive or private information or to interrupt the normal operations of the target system. It can be in the form of scripts, active content, code or software. Adware is a program supported by advertising. It sends or displays advertisements automatically for the author of the program to earn revenue. These ads are presented on the software interface or on the screen while the user downloads the software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hjoqor.dll. is used by Adware:Win32/SmitFraud, If you shut down hjoqor.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hjoqor.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adware:Win32/SmitFraud, from your system.
