The hid.exe file is termed as hid MFC Application as its service name, and is a part of the program hid Application, which is believed to be a product created by Hewlett-Packard or HP. This file starts to run and provides its particular feature or function, once the software that houses it is successfully installed onto the computer. Because it is a component, the hid.exe is also downloaded upon the installation of the program hid Application. Once installed, it is stored on a specific file folder location, usually in C:\Program Files, or sometimes in C:\Windows or C:\Documents and Settings of a Windows computer or laptop, and run automatically in the background during the startup of Windows, even though this can be executed manually by the user. Regardless of its Windows startup setting, hid.exe is a file that is recommended to run on the system, since it is a background process, which implies that it must not be terminated or stopped, unless it starts to cause problems that affect the performance of the computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hid.exe. is used by hid Application, If you shut down hid.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hid.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is hid Application, from your system.
