The hfxp.exe file is a process used by the application Hide-Folder Software by Hide-Folder. It is not a system process. This process provides security by allowing the user to use passwords to protect files, discs and folders. It can make folders and files invisible and encrypt data using 9 c/cryptology algorithms like TMS, RIJNDAEL, TWOFISH, TMS, CAST, BLOWFISH, COBRA12 and PC1. It does not allow these folders to be renamed, duplicated, moved or modified by other users. The hfxp.exe process allows you to choose programs that will remain accessible to others. It lets you lock an entire system conveniently. It provides a mechanism that saves important files when the system is manipulated intentionally or crashes unexpectedly. This process protects your desktops by preventing unauthorized changes on desktop settings. The hfxp.exe process also maintains user settings such as Favorites, Internet History, date and time, Control Panel OS settings and Desktop unmodified and protected.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hfxp.exe. is used by Hide-Folder Sofware, If you shut down hfxp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hfxp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Hide-Folder Sofware, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
