What is hcmon.sys
Called as VMware USB Monitor, the process hcmon.sys is an instance of a driver (SYS) file, and a part of the software product labeled as VMware Player, or VMware USB Monitor, which is created by VMware, Inc. The hcmon.sys file is not just a basic component, because it is digitally signed from VMware, Inc. - Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G3, and compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,such as newer versions like Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME. That said, hcmon.sys is essentially important that needs to remain running in the background of a computer system, and also means it must not be terminated, unless it is causing problems that affect the performance of the system.
