Hamachi2 Client Tunneling Engine, originally from Hamachi Client Tunneling Engine, is the service name of the process hamachi-2.exe, and a part of the program called LogMeIn Hamachi 2 or Hamachi2 Client, which is produced by LogMeIn. Like the first series, LogMeIn Hamachi 2 is basically a type of hosted virtual private network or VPN service, which is used to allow a user securely extend his or her related local area networks to remote other networks, or users. The hamachi-2.exe file is a Windows process that works with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, such as Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME. Regardless of the OS used, hamachi-2.exe is a process that runs in the background, as soon as the program is successfully installed onto the computer. This file automatically launches itself and executes other processes during the startup of the Windows, or when the software that houses it is manually opened by the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hamachi-2.exe. is used by LogMeIn Hamachi or Hamachi2, If you shut down hamachi-2.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hamachi-2.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is LogMeIn Hamachi or Hamachi2, from your system.
