The Multi-function keyboard is a component of the Gateway Destination PC that is supported by software from BillP Studios. This keyboard is currently the standard equipment on Gateway multimedia desktop and laptop computers. The Gateway Multi-function keyboard Utility software controls all the extra keys that are located on top of the keyboard, including the green or transparent bars that is displayed when the user changes the volume settings for computer speaker. The Multi-function keyboard also contains the controls for the CD/DVD player. The volume and CD/DVD player keyboard keys are hotkeys or keyboard shortcuts that make it easier for users to interact with the computer without using the mouse or the pointing device. These hotkeys save time and effort for the user as they continue with their computing activities.
