The gvcpldrv.sys file is the process called GVCplDrv that is used by the application GVCplDrv. This process file is a driver. This is not a visible program. It is not a core file for Windows. A driver is a computer application that controls or operates a device that is attached to the computer. It usually communicates with the device by means of a communications subsystem or a computer bus that is connected to the hardware. It issues commands to the connected device when a program calls for a routine. When the device sends data back, it triggers routines from the program. A driver is dependent on hardware and is operating-system-specific. It often provides interrupt handling that is needed for important asynchronous time-dependent hardware interface. It acts as translator between the operating system or application and the hardware device to simplify programming.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gvcpldrv.sys. is used by GVCplDrv, If you shut down gvcpldrv.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gvcpldrv.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GVCplDrv, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as GVCplDrv, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application.
