The gspec.dll file is the process called GlobalSpec Engineering Toolbar used by the application GlobalSpec Enigneering Toolbar created by the company GloablSepck Inc. A DLL [dynamic link library] file has a mechanism for shared codes and data that are applicable to different programs. It is easy to install and arrange. It can inject itself into other running processes to control or change their behavior. The gspec.dll file has a digital signature from GlobalSpec, Inc. with certificate issued by VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer. Automatic startup locations for the process include Explorer BHOs, Internet Explorer Toolbars and Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser. GlobalSpec Toolbar is an information resource and search engine for industrial, technical and engineering purposes. This time-saving utility is installed on your Web browser to provide immediate access to the database of technical services and products by GlobalSpec and the Engineering Web. The Engineering Web serves as distilled version of Internet that covers information and search results that are relevant to engineering professionals only.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gspec.dll. is used by GlobalSpec Engingeering Toolbar, If you shut down gspec.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gspec.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GlobalSpec Engingeering Toolbar, from your system.
