The grtdimon.sys file is the process called GRTdiMon TDI Filter Driver that is used by the application Aluria Firewall developed by Aluria Software. This process file is a driver. A driver is a computer application that controls or operates a certain device connected to the computer. It communicates with the device usually through a communications subsystem or computer bus that is connected to the hardware. A driver is dependent on hardware and is operating-system-specific. The grtdimon.sys process is not visible. It is not a core file for Windows. Aluria Firewall is part of the security suite called Aluria Security Center. This Internet security suite includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall protection against Internet threats such as hackers, keyloggers, spyware, adware, Trojans, worms and viruses. Aluria Firewall software serves as personal firewall that secures your system from unexpected threats and stealthy hackers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. grtdimon.sys. is used by Aluria Firewall, If you shut down grtdimon.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop grtdimon.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Aluria Firewall, from your system.
