The file glass2k.exe, known as Glass2K, belongs to software Glass2k by Chime Software. Glass2k is a small program that allows users of Windows 2000 and XP to make any window transparent. To make the operation transparent, the user can right-click on any window or press the keyboard shortcuts Control +shift +(0 - 9). The stable beta version of this software loads on Windows startup and remembers each window's transparency setting. It allows the user to keep any window on top, and is capable of making the Windows taskbar transparent. The transparency popup that appears allows the window to be transparent from 10% to 90%. The lower values (10%) provide the highest transparency, while the highest value (90%) provides the least transparent window. The program features the No-Glass Effect, which removes the transparency from the selected windows, that is makes the windows opaque. The program applies to Windows 2000 and XP only because both applications provide native support for for transparency or alpha settings.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. glass2k.exe. is used by Glass2k, If you shut down glass2k.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop glass2k.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Glass2k, from your system.
