The file gigatribe.exe, known as Gigatribe or Giga Tribe, belongs to software Giga Tribe by ShalSoft. Giga Tribe is a peer-to-peer file sharing application that was originally developed in France, with an American version launched in 2008. The file-sharing network offers free and paid versions, with the paid version featuring restricted access to their encrypted files to a group of trusted friends. The paid version with encrypted files and restricted access is equivalent to a private peer-to-peer file sharing that is limited by the user to his trusted friend. Files shared in GigaTribe remains confidential and secure, since the site does not host any file. The user decides who joins in his private file sharing network, and the files transferred are protected by the secrecy of correspondence. Files transferred within this file-sharing network are encrypted using the Blowfish 256-bit encryption algorithm. This two-way file sharing enables users to share large files with no restriction on file quantity and size, with the files maintained in their original format.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gigatribe.exe. is used by Giga Tribe, If you shut down gigatribe.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
