The file genepccmon.exe, known as GenePccMon.exe, belongs to software StarOffice (version 9). StarOfice is a proprietary office suite developed by the StarDivision of Sun Microsystems. This free productivity application suite includes a word processor (Writer), database (Base), spreadsheet (Calc), illustrator (Draw), presentation maker (Impress), email (Mail), schedule development (Schedule), and newsgroup (Discussion). StarOffice was based on a free and open source office suite called OpenOffice.org with additional proprietary components. The productivity suite supports the OpenOffice.org XML file formal as well as the OpenDocument standard, and can generate PDF and Flash formats. StarOfice has a version with Asian language localization called StarSuite, which included Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese interfaces. StarSuite included additional fonts for the East Asian market, resulting in slightly larger installation footprint. The programs are compatible with Microsoft Office components and are available in eleven languages.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. genepccmon.exe. is used by StarOffice, If you shut down genepccmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop genepccmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is StarOffice, from your system.
