The file geeby.dll is installed and used by the Trojan.Backdoor to run its destructive payload. It installs as a browser plugin that loads at startup together with the Internet Explorer. A Trojan is malware that presents as a legitimate and harmless application to encourage the user to execute them. The Trojan.Backdoor is one of the most widespread and dangerous Trojans that provide the author with remote administration of victim machines. It provides full or partial access and control over the victim computer, and can be instructed to send, receive, execute and delete files, steal confidential data from the computer, and log the user's activities including browsing habits. The Trojan is sometimes combined with another application, which can be a flash card, flash game, an antivirus, or a patch for the operating system. In addition to stealing information from the host computer, the Trojan.Backdoor can also use the host to attach another system.
