The file gatewayipmon_svc.exe, known as Gateway IP Monitor Service, belongs to software Gateway IP Monitor by NETIKUS.NET ltd. Gateway IP Monitor is a Windows application that monitors the default gateways IP address by repeatedly connecting to a Web page in the Internet. Since the application runs as a Windows service, the user does not need to login for the application to be active. Gateway IP Monitor enables the user to access the home network or customer's network through the Internet even if the IP addresses are not readily available. It also provides the user with a static IP address for remote administration purposes. The application consists of two major parts, which are the GUI and the Service. The GUI configures and controls the service and is the part that is relevant to the user. The Service performs the actual work and provides the user with round-the-clock service, even when not logged-in to the system. The program notifies the user by email if the IP address changes, launch a custom application, or append the IP address to a log file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gatewayipmon_svc.exe. is used by Gateway IP Monitor, If you shut down gatewayipmon_svc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gatewayipmon_svc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Gateway IP Monitor, from your system.
