The file gatekeeper.exe, known as Mobile Guardian Gatekeeper Service, belongs to software CREDANT Mobile Guardian, which is mobile data security and management solution for a diverse set of platforms. Administrators can deploy this data protection on removable media and mobile devices from a server that has been configured to provide the CREDANT Mobile Guardian services. The program offers full data encryption for enterprises using the Microsoft Windows platform, and delivers greater portability and usability of secured data for laptops, Macs, desktops, and portable storage devices. It supports industry standard algorithms including FIPS 140-2-validated AES 128 and AES 256, and complements Microsoft Windows BitLocker. CREDANT Mobile Guardian is compatible with existing disk recovery, maintenance, and forensic tools, and with automated patch management systems that require no global login for updates. It employs flexible password parameters and two-factor authentication, smart card, biometrics, and RSA SecurID for Microsoft Windows support.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gatekeeper.exe. is used by CREDANT Mobile Guardian, If you shut down gatekeeper.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gatekeeper.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CREDANT Mobile Guardian, from your system.
