The file gamevent.exe is a process that belongs to software Mylex Global Array Manager. Mylex is a company engaged in the storage systems industry before it was acquired by LSI Logic Corporation to expand the company's business in storage components and storage systems. The Global Array Manager (GAM) is software for configuring RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), with features that include industry standard fault-management, array configuring, remote TCP/IP support, dynamic performance monitoring, and reliable messaging and superior operating system support. GAM employs Raid Assist, which is a RAID wizard for configuring sophisticated arrays to facilitate RAID storage configurations. Fault management, which is a critical component of RAID systems, is addressed by GAM through TCP/IP support. GAM leverages several benefits of TCP/IP for RAID systems, such as the ability to support Windows< NetWare and UNIX platforms with a common source, eliminating the need for special clients to monitor the Windows NT servers, NetWare servers, and UNIX servers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gamevent.exe. is used by Mylex Global Array Manager, If you shut down gamevent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gamevent.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Mylex Global Array Manager, from your system.
