The file fwebprot.exe, known as FRITZ! Protect, belongs to software AVM FRITZ!DSL by AVM Berlin. FRITZ!DSL is the Internet service provided by AVM, which is a Berlin-based communications specialist. The DSL sevice employs the use of the FRITZ!Box, which is a series of residential gateway devices that enables fast, user-friendly Internet access, easy networking, convenient telephony, and versatile multimedia applications. This router has an integrated modem that provides a versatile solution for secure broadband access from multiple PCs. FRITZ!Box offers many options including USB and LAN ports, WLAN with wireless encryption activated out of the box, and extensions that can be used to connect the user's phones. There are several models of the FRITZ!Box available, and the functionality includes a built-in ADSL modem in most models, or an ADSL/VDSL modem (73xx series), or a cable modem (63xx series), or an LTE modem (68xx series), and a built-in LAN-WAN router. The FRITZ!Box is available in German version for Germany, German version for Austria and Switzerland, and the International (English) version.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fwebprot.exe. is used by AVM FRITZ!DSL, If you shut down fwebprot.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fwebprot.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AVM FRITZ!DSL, from your system.
