The freetdi.sys file is the process called Radialpoint Filter that is used by the application Freedom developed by Zero-Knowledge Systems now known as Radialpoint. This process file is a driver. A driver is an application that controls or operates a certain device connected to the computer. It usually communicates with the device through a communications subsystem or a computer bus that is connected to the hardware. The driver acts as a translator between the operating system or application and the hardware device to simplify programming. It is dependent on hardware and is operating-system-specific. This program is not visible. The freetdi.sys file has a digital signature from Radialpoint with certificate issued by VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer. This process automatically starts on drivers installed. Freedom Network is the flagship product of Radialpoint. Radialpoint is a company founded by Hamnett, Austin and Hammie Hill on 1997.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. freetdi.sys. is used by Freedom, If you shut down freetdi.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop freetdi.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Freedom, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
