The fpshx.eng file is the process called FSAV Shell Extensions English Localization DLL that is used by the application F-Secure Anti-Virus created by F-Secure Corporation. A DLL file is dynamically loaded or linked file that has a mechanism for shared codes and data that allow a developer to upgrade the functions of a program without the need to re-link or recompile. A DLL file has functions that can be applied to different applications. It can be injected into running programs to control or change their behavior. There is no visible window for this program. F-Secure Anti-Virus is a software that provides security solutions such as removal of spyware, viruses and other computer infections. It removes viruses and spyware from E-mails, blocks tracing cookies and enables advanced process monitoring using DeepGuard. It performs scheduled or manual scanning including known file types, compressed files and advanced heuristics.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fpshx.eng. is used by F-Secure Anti-Virus, If you shut down fpshx.eng, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fpshx.eng, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure Anti-Virus, from your system.
