The fmgrsrv.exe file is the process called File Manager Server that is used by the application Sony Ericsson PC Suite that is created by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB. It is not a core file for Windows therefore the operating system does not require this process to run. It is a non-system process that originates from the program installed in the system. The fmgrsrv.exe file has no digital signature. The process automatically starts on running processes. Sony Ericsson PC Suite is an application that lets you connect your phone to the computer and for you to enhance the usability of your phone. It lets you synchronize contact information and calendar, transfer data between devices such as videos, images and music, to set up the application to connect the computer to the Internet by utilizing the phone as a modem, and to create and send picture and text messages.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fmgrsrv.exe. is used by Sony Ericsson PC Suite, If you shut down fmgrsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fmgrsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sony Ericsson PC Suite, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
