The process is also called FakeGuard Module. The default location of the file is C:\Program Files (x86)\PC Tools Security\BDT\FGuard. It runs as a background process when enabled, and is launched simultaneously with Windows startup. What the program does is detect fake applications of anti-virus utilities. It alerts users by displaying pop-ups when a fake anti-virus process or application has been detected. It provides online browsing security, and is often utilized by Internet surfers when they play online games. Reviews by users show that they disable the security tool because they find that constant display of pop-ups interferes with their browsing experience. Improper or incomplete installation of the file, without removal of the program from the computer after such incident, may render the file and the system vulnerable to virus attacks.
